Rumors Part II: Getting to Know Gandy: MFRW Book Hooks

The Blurb
Geeky Gandy Stafford's lifelong fantasy comes true when he meets the otherworldly Dorma and Desyra. These last remnants of a botched extraterrestrial invasion discover that they require a great deal of energy to maintain their human forms.

The easiest way to obtain essential power?

Sex, and lots of it.

Catching Up
Groundskeeper Gandy Stafford finds himself face to face with a pair of gelatinous aliens. The aliens have assured him that they don't want to eat him, but he's still not sure what they plan to do with him. The previous installment can be found here.

The Snippet
“We wish to learn of your planet. Teach us what you know.”

“Well, um, yeah, okay, sure. I just need to finish putting everything away. Is that okay?”

“Companion, I believe the Terran would feel more comfortable if we were to assume the appearance of one of his kind,” one of the aliens suggested.

“Yes, I believe you are correct, Companion. One moment, Terran. We are retrieving data from your mind to create a form that you will find pleasing.”

The Notes
I'm still learning the ropes with this hop. I read the room with last week's share and it doesn't seem like too many of you were interested in my Lovecraftian buddy story, so I'm going to stick with this one. I'm planning to combine the three first stories in the Carnal Invasion series into one volume because they're all so short.

Thanks for reading!

  1. Sadly they were undoubtedly right and he is more comfortable when they are in human form.
I suspect it is true of most of us.

    1. I imagine so, although I do love the idea of a world where the extraordinary is commonplace. It's been all too long since I've been able to write a good Grover and Cactus Clem bit, for instance.

    1. Thank you so much. Hopefully I will be able to be a more regular participant now that real life is less chaotic. (Knocks on head.)

  3. The whole "retrieving data from your mind" would make me very uncomfortable.

  4. I loved this excerpt, Cara. Sounds like Terran is about to live every guy's dream.

Sorry I didn't comment last week. I usually comment on about half the Book Hook entries and it's at random.

    1. Don't feel beholden to comment. I'm trying to hit everyone's blog, but there's some that I haven't been able to leave comments on. The comments get eaten by overly aggressive spam filters. Thanks for stopping by!

    1. Yes, it would be a bit of a surprise to be approached by something that looked like a sparkly Jello octopus, I think. Thanks for visiting. :-)

I try to get comments published as quickly as possible. I have ADHD and anxiety and sometimes I need to work myself up to be able to respond to comments. I don't always reply to comments on my blog, but I do try to visit as many people as possible when I participate in blog hops. I share your work on the monthly Roost Recommendations posts at ornerybookemporium.blogspot.com so others can discover your work. I do read and appreciate your comments.
Sorry, the Captcha is back and this time it's staying. I was inundated with spam comments when I turned it off. I wish butt rash on all the spammers out there.
