Ketil's Pep Talk #WeWriWa #8Sunday #SnipSun #Snippet Sunday 6 December 2020

The Blurb
The fate of the Cosmos rests in the hands of an unlikely team of unusual friends. Will an exiled member of an ancient extraterrestrial race, a human ghost, and two ghouls be able to outfox an ancient evil and beat Nyarlathotep at his game before time runs out? This buddy story is the first in a series of New Cthulhu Mythos cliffhangers.

The Notes
Last time Little John lamented his lost opportunity.

The Snippet

“Now see here, my fine fellow,” Ketil countered. “I am not the sort to give pep talks. You have only to look upon this grim face to know this to be true. But I see no reason why you could not go into business one way or another. Dylath Leen, for instance, is a debauched city which never rests. There are folk of varying degrees of ill repute milling about day and night, and they are looking for a good meal. If you have an eatery which is open all night, I can guarantee that few of them will care that you are a ghoul.”

“I will consider yer thoughtful words, Guv,” Little John stated, wiping his eyes on his sleeve. “I could give ‘em a fine, simple meal at me tavern. I thank yer kindly, Old China!”

  1. And don't we all need pep talks from time to time. And speaking for myself kindness if much more likely to reduce me to tears (witness Little John wiping his eyes) than its opposite.

  7. A restaurant run by ghosts and ghouls? I'd love to read about their customers.

  8. There's always a way to make things work out . . . even for ghouls.

I try to get comments published as quickly as possible. I have ADHD and anxiety and sometimes I need to work myself up to be able to respond to comments. I don't always reply to comments on my blog, but I do try to visit as many people as possible when I participate in blog hops. I share your work on the monthly Roost Recommendations posts at ornerybookemporium.blogspot.com so others can discover your work. I do read and appreciate your comments.
Sorry for having to turn on the stupid Captcha thing. I had a few spam bots stop by.
