The Greatest Movie Couple that Never Happened #mackadebloghop

For those of you born after the turn of the century, who have been living under a rock, or who don't like sci-fi creature features, these two lovely characters are Corporal Dwayne Hicks and Lieutenant Ellen Ripley from the movie Aliens. Which is, by the way, one of the best sci-fi creature features ever made, and as Mrs. Slocombe always wisely said, I am unanimous in this.

The venerable Mrs. Slocombe's expression reflects my feelings about the awful Alien 3, the "movie" that is the reason my favorite couple did not end up becoming a canon couple. James Cameron (the producer and director of Aliens) wanted them to be, but he did not end up producing or directing Alien 3. A slew of other people did, and it was a hot mess. The less said about that, the better.

I'm still angry about the five bucks and 90 minutes I'll never get back from the fateful day in 1993 when I stupidly sat my ass down in the theatre seat to watch that steaming pile of Xenomorph spoor masquerading as a movie. I decided Alien 3 was a nightmare Ripley had in the hypersleep pod and I wrote a bunch of much better fan fiction about what really happened. Again, I am unanimous in this.

She agrees with me.

  1. I'm not sure if I've seen the third one or not. I thought for sure I had, but thinking on it...I don't know. I do know that the second one was/is my favorite.

I try to get comments published as quickly as possible. I have ADHD and anxiety and sometimes I need to work myself up to be able to respond to comments. I don't always reply to comments on my blog, but I do try to visit as many people as possible when I participate in blog hops. I share your work on the monthly Roost Recommendations posts at ornerybookemporium.blogspot.com so others can discover your work. I do read and appreciate your comments.
Sorry, the Captcha is back and this time it's staying. I was inundated with spam comments when I turned it off. I wish butt rash on all the spammers out there.
