The Blurb
The fate of the Cosmos rests in the hands of an unlikely team of unusual friends. Will an exiled member of an ancient extraterrestrial race, a human ghost, and two ghouls be able to outfox an ancient evil and beat Nyarlathotep at his game before time runs out? This buddy story is the first in a series of New Cthulhu Mythos cliffhangers.
The Notes
Last time, the group stepped through the door of the Xura Dream House. Ketil compared Robin to a rotted potato, and Robin threatened to take a trip to Sweden to snack on Ketil's corpse.

The Snippet
Little John strode forth to walk beside Yitzy. He doffed his
newsboy cap.
“Begging your pardon and all, Guv’ner,” the large ghoul
said, “but I am wondering how it pleases you to be working with the Undead.”
“I find it much the same as working with the living,” Yitzy
revealed. “The Undead make for surprisingly good study. There is such a vast
variety of subclasses. There are the revenants such as vampires, some of which
are created by what one might call supernatural means but many of whom can be
traced back to a series of retroviruses foreign to your Earth. There are the
mindless living corpse variety, which tend to be referred to as zombies. Then
there are those such as yourselves who were once living humans but upon the
death of your body were transformed into new creatures which must feed on
rotting carrion for your well-being. Then there are those such as Ketil, who is
an energy projection surrounding the force of the personality which he possessed
in life. Most fascinating, all of it.”

Perhaps it is my jaundiced early morning self speaking but I can see parallels with the undead types in our own species. Particularly those that feed on rotting corpses - and frequently bring others to that corpse like state...
