The wonderful summer ended abruptly when Deb and her father and brothers left town the night following the brutal slaying of Pastor Bounmy Hooker and his wife Maral in Big Rock Park. Intan Kjeldsen, a seventeen-year-old Norwegian exchange student living with the family, and the Hooker children, aged six, five, and four, were unharmed save for small puncture wounds on their necks. Each of the children spoke of two monster-men who attacked their parents and the nice teenage girl who tried to stop them. According to six-year-old Verena, the girl looked like an angel with her long golden hair. According to five-year-old Artemius, the girl looked like a princess in her old-fashioned white dress. According to four-year-old Wil, the pretty girl was Goldilocks, and when she kissed him on the neck it tickled.

I try to get comments published as quickly as possible. I have ADHD and anxiety and sometimes I need to work myself up to be able to respond to comments. I don't always reply to comments on my blog, but I do try to visit as many people as possible when I participate in blog hops. I share your work on the monthly Roost Recommendations posts at ornerybookemporium.blogspot.com so others can discover your work. I do read and appreciate your comments.
Sorry, the Captcha is back and this time it's staying. I was inundated with spam comments when I turned it off. I wish butt rash on all the spammers out there.
