Gorgeous Gudrun Lemaire is just the woman Aodh Warzawski has been looking for to help him complete his collection of Nine Ladies Dancing. The love-starved middle-aged goth chick is the perfect victim--or is she?
The sun was rising on Christmas morning as a team of plain-clothes detectives approached a dilapidated farmhouse located on the outskirts of London. A well-maintained truck sat off to the side. There was a light layer of snow on the ground, and there were footprints belonging to two women, two men, and one large dog.
"This is certainly peculiar," thirty-year-old Detective Constable Tatsuya Auer noted. "The footprints indicate that one bloke and two ladies went in. A different bloke and the same two ladies came out with a big dog. We've no evidence that any other vehicle has been here besides that truck. The footprints leading away from the property disappear beyond the truck. Old Kris Kringle left us a spiffing little Christmas puzzle, innit?"
