I’m here on a dare, and I think I got punked. Hang on, babies, I need a drink of water; I feel like I’ve been sucking on a pair of sweaty old socks or, like, a jock strap or something--Ew!”
James sipped from a gray metal water bottle featuring a stylized skull adorned with red gemstones in its eye sockets. The Zowie J logo was visible beneath the skull. He swished the water around in his mouth before swallowing. Afterward, he procured a breath mint from a white tin decorated with the Zowie J logo.

A Note From C. L. Hart
I feel like a lot of the rules of blogging and indeed of writing, promotion, and life are designed to exclude those who don’t fit within society’s parameters of normal. Write what you know—except not that! Give your blog post a personal touch. No, not that personal, you’ll alienate your audience! Be real—no not that real! Post pictures of yourself, but before you do, realize you need to be conventionally attractive or it’s open season for ridicule.

As a rule-breaker, I say fuck that noise. I’ll never be popular or pretty. I’m going to do things my way.

About the Author:

C. L. Hart, the owner and sole employee of Naughty Netherworld Press, is spoken of in hushed tones. She is described as The Mad Scribe of the Northeastern Colorado Plains, The Terrible Old Woman, and The Author That Should Not Be.

When not penning sanity-destroying works of dystopian fiction, Lovecraftian fantasy, or old-school horror with the occasional sweet romance thrown in to upset the cosmic apple cart, Ms. Hart enjoys creating baked goods she hopes will be considered palatable.

Ms. Hart shares a home in a remote rural town of 134 souls with her adult son and three cats. Her sense of fashion is best described as Early Twenty-First Century Unmade Bed. This disabled former nurse can usually be found arguing with herself about subplots or rehabilitating eldritch horrors.

Kitty Wells is one of my inspirations. She may never have called herself a feminist, but she was a pioneer who paved the way for women in the music industry.

I try to get comments published as quickly as possible. I have ADHD and anxiety and sometimes I need to work myself up to be able to respond to comments. I don't always reply to comments on my blog, but I do try to visit as many people as possible when I participate in blog hops. I share your work on the monthly Roost Recommendations posts at ornerybookemporium.blogspot.com so others can discover your work. I do read and appreciate your comments.
Sorry, the Captcha is back and this time it's staying. I was inundated with spam comments when I turned it off. I wish butt rash on all the spammers out there.
