Diane dried her dark eyes and put on her glasses. She made
her way to the kitchen to put the kettle on the stove.
“I’d another one of those dreams, Dain.”
“The ones frae the future?”
“Cer. I’m an Arab girl, adopted by a dreadful churl of a man
and his weak wife. I’ve two brothers, wee twins, six years younger than me.
Their names are Gerry and Paul.”
“Di,
do ye not suppose ye might be projecting yer emotions over Gerry’s troubles
into yer dreams, Love? And, after all, you yerself were adopted.”

Hi, Cie! I do love the brogue in this tale! Yep. It does seem like she might be projecting. :-)
ReplyDeleteIf you're caught up in this winter storm, stay safe. :-) We have ice.
Diane is one of those people who was told by teachers to stop woolgathering. She always had a very active imagination, which can be both a blessing and a curse.
DeleteHer dream sounds very detailed, and she remembers a lot of it. That alone makes it very distinctive and worth heeding.
ReplyDeleteThere are certain dreams that are worth paying attention to. I had a really odd one just last night. It wasn't a warning of any sort, I don't think, just very vivid and strange.
DeleteI love the scene with the language. Well done!
ReplyDeleteThank you. :-)
DeleteAre these more than just dreams? Enjoyed the snippet!

ReplyDeleteI'm curious about her dreams and what they mean. Curious snippet.
ReplyDeleteVery intriguing. I'm curious to know more.
