Padraig O’Connell meets Janet Freeman at his best friend’s pub. He flirts and dances with her in the hopes of a one-night-stand. She lets him walk her to the hotel where she’s staying, but discovers they’ve locked their doors for the evening. He offers an extra bedroom at his place, and she accepts with hesitation.

The next morning, he takes her for a drive around the Ring of Kerry. He gives her the choice of going back to her hotel, or spending another night at his place. She spends the night with him in his bed. Padraig’s friends try to convince him to give a relationship with Janet a chance. Even if that means following her back to the States.

PADRAIG 

I stood behind the bar at my best friend Michael O’Rourke’s pub. While washing pint glasses, I watched locals interact with tourists through the long mirror above the sink, each pair doing the ritual mating dance in the hopes of a one-night stand or short-term fling. Scanning the line of customers seated on stools on the other side of the shiny wood surface, I spotted someone new seating herself at the end near the entrance. 

Her pretty blue eyes were framed by a pair of dark rimmed glasses. The tight blonde braid hanging over her shoulder added to the sexy librarian look. She lowered a silver sweater from creamy shoulders any man would want to lick and bite. 

The curved neckline of her top revealed the tops of two pillowy breasts; perfect for a man to nuzzle his face in. After drying the last glass and setting it on a shelf below the counter with its brethren, I waited to see if someone else might occupy the empty stool beside her. 

She pulled a folded piece of paper out of her purse. As I approached, she unfolded the page and smoothed it out in front of her; revealing a map of Ireland.
